The IndiCam service extracts measurements from images of analog indicators like dials and gauges of different kinds. The Beta focuses on domestic oil tank float gauges, and comes with a Home Assistant integration. It also exposes an API for use from other automation frameworks.
This service is in Beta. Which means we’re still working out the kinks and some help from you might be needed to do that. Once the oil tank gauge Beta is completed, we will start looking at other types of sensors.

- Uses still images from low-cost commodity cameras.
- Captures images from domestic oil tank float gauges, and passes the image to the IndiCam service for measurement extraction.
- Using the IndiCam Machine Learning service, the gauge location and float location within the gauge is extracted.
- Has a ready-to-go integration with Home Assistant, with exposure of the measurement as a sensor value.
- Provides a Python client library, and an API for integration with other client frameworks.
